Rishma Vidyasagar

Senior Manager and National Coordinator, Advanced Human Imaging

Rishma is a former clinical scientist with experience in science policy, grant design, research coordination and program delivery. She is passionate about supporting researchers and supporting the translation of health and medical research.

Rishma has extensive experience in neuroimaging research in paediatric and adult patient groups, having worked in both clinical and discovery research labs across the UK and Melbourne. Her research spanned collaborations with industry, clinical trials groups and clinicians investigating topics such as biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease, stroke recovery and paediatric tumours through multimodal imaging methods.

In addition to her neuroimaging research experience, Rishma has chaired various committees within research institutions and university departments to develop policies and support training and capability building of EMCRs.

Prior to joining NIF, Rishma was formerly an Assistant Director within the Health and Medical Research Office supporting national health and medical research processes within the Australian Government’s Department of Health and Aged Care, where she worked in the space of national health and medical research policy development, MRFF-grant design and evaluation, and other scientific strategic initiatives with a national focus.
