Andrew Chacon

Total Body PET NIF Scientist

Andrew Chacon is a qualified nuclear medical physicist working in conjunction with Alfred Hospital and Monash Biomedical Imaging, with a focus on advanced PET imaging using the Siemens Biograph Vision Quadra system.

He completed his PhD and postdoctoral research at the University of Wollongong and Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), contributing to the development of Neutron Capture Enhanced Particle Therapy (NCEPT) and related work in particle therapy dosimetry and imaging, including international collaborative research in heavy ion therapy and PET-based dose verification.

He subsequently completed his clinical training as a nuclear medical physicist at Austin Health and is now involved in clinical implementation of novel nuclear medicine and PET technologies, supporting precision imaging and theragnostic applications within multidisciplinary programs.
