NIF’s Herston Imaging Research Facility is helping advance brain stimulation therapy for major depression by supporting QIMR Berghofer researchers and the Queensland Neurostimulation Centre.
The research team, led by Dr Luca Cocchi, have developed an AI tool to personalise transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy, to accurately predict which patients will benefit most. This innovation aims to enhance treatment effectiveness, reduce unnecessary procedures, and improve access for those in need.
