Radiometals and Targetry Highlights from the ISRS2025 Conference

23 September 2025, 1400 ESDT

Presentations by:

Dr Ali Asad
Radiopharmaceutical Scientist at the RAPID, Cyclotron Laboratory at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Dr Joseph Ioppolo
National Imaging Facility (NIF) Radiochemistry Fellow for WA

Dear Colleagues
It gives me great pleasure to announce the eighth lecture for 2025, presentations by Dr Ali Asad and Dr Joseph Ioppolo.
Ali and Joe will be highlighting developments in the Radiometals and Targetry from the ISRS2025 Radiopharmaceutical
Conference at the Gold Coast in May.
Given the importance of metal-based radionuclides in radiopharmaceutical science, I would like to encourage everyone to
join us for this presentation.
Yours Sincerely

Dr Ali Asad
Ali Asad is a Senior Radiochemist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, where he has worked since 2008. He completed his
PhD at Curtin University in 2016. His work focuses on co-supervising the delivery of PET and molecular radiotherapy
(MRT) radiopharmaceuticals, as well as leading the research, development, and production of novel cyclotron-produced
radiometal isotopes for clinical and commercial applications.

Dr Joseph Ioppolo.
Joseph (Joe) Ioppolo is the Radiochemistry Fellow for WA and has been in this role since 2022, working both for the WA
NIF Node and RAPID, the cyclotron laboratory at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (which is just next door). Prior to this he
was a full-time chemist with the RAPID team, taking part in the production and quality control of FDG and carbon-11,
fluorine-18, gallium-68, zirconium-89 and lutetium-177 radiopharmaceuticals, as well some preclinical projects involving
aluminium-fluoride labelling.
