Introducing: Dr Edward Robins

Dr Edward George Robins graduated with a BSc. Hons. in Chemistry from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1994 and obtained his PhD from the School of Chemistry at Bristol University in 1997. After 5 years postdoctoral studies, Dr Robins joined Imaging Research Solutions Ltd (IRSL) at Hammersmith Hospital, UK as a radiochemist in April 2003. Between 2007 and 2011, Dr Robins was the Radiochemistry Leader for Medical Diagnostics Discovery, GE Healthcare, during which time the focus of his work was the discovery, development and translation of PET radiopharmaceuticals from basic research to clinical research and commercialization. In 2011, Dr Robins was appointed as Head of Radiochemistry at the Singapore Bioimaging Consortium (SBIC, A*STAR) and concurrently held a joint appointment at the Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC) at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. In 2019, Dr Robins was appointed as the Deputy Director and Head of Radiochemistry for CIRC, where he oversaw the GMP manufacture of PET radiopharmaceuticals for clinical imaging research programs. In April 2021, Dr Robins was appointed as Deputy Director of the Institute of Bioengineering and Bioimaging before joining the SAHMRI team in November 2022 as the Head of Research and Development at the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Research Unit (MITRU).
