Highlights of the International Symposium in Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (ISRS), Gold Coast, May 2025

Giancarlo Pascali and Andrew Katsifis (Chair, ACPSEM Specialty Group)

Dear Colleagues

It gives me great pleasure to announce the fifth presentation for 2025, a presentation by Giancarlo Pascali and myself.

May was a very busy month with two very important conferences for the Radiopharmaceutical Community. Firstly, the International Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (iSRS) held the most important and significant meeting in Radiopharmaceutical Science at the Gold Coast, Australia from the 11th to the 15th of May 2025. The iSRS, held approximately every two years at various locations around the world, is the major forum bringing radiopharmaceutical scientists from around the world to present the most recent advances in the field. This is the second time the iSRS was held in Australia, the first being in Sydney in 2003. With this I would like to acknowledge, Giancarlo’s enthusiasm, persistence and dedication in leading the organization and hosting of what was a very successful symposium. Giancarlo and I will present the first of a series of talks that will be given by several RPS scientists who attend the iSRS over the
next 2-3 months highlighting the most recent radiochemistry developments in the field that were presented at this meeting.

Secondly, we had the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine from the 23rd to the 25th May in Melbourne. Again, we will be having the highlights of this meeting presented in the coming months with speakers to be announced. In addition to these two major meetings, we also had the Australian Cyclotron User’s Meeting as well as the GE and Trasis
Users meetings. I am currently trying to organize speakers to present highlights from these meetings as well.

The purpose of these presentations is to give a brief overview of important developments in our field to RPS members who were not able to attend these meetings and as such share the knowledge and developments in a rapidly growing RPS field and I hope we can extend this process to other meetings such as the SNM, the ESNMMI and the IEEE which will be held later in the year.

I hope you will find these talks exciting, informative and educational. The presentation will be available through TEAMS.

Yours Sincerely
Andrew Katsifis
