National Imaging Facility is seeking an experienced, independent Chair who will play a pivotal role in guiding the Board to set strategic objectives, ensure effective governance, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Experience in the development of strategies, governance and business models for research infrastructure, including NCRIS, will be highly regarded.
This is a unique opportunity to steer National Imaging Facility’s future directions and ensure that National Imaging Facility continues to enable significant impacts on national health challenges and on accelerating Australian innovation. This is a remunerated position.
The Chair must be independent and satisfy the following conditions:
Expressions of Interest from potential candidates who are qualified to serve as Chair of the National Imaging Facility Board are now invited. Please provide a Statement of Suitability (3-page maximum) for the position by outlining how you meet the requirements listed above, a brief governance CV, and the names and contact details of two referees by COB 22 August (submission via Seek).
The Chair is appointed by The University of Queensland, following consultation with the Board and the Partners. A Board committee will consider applicants against the objectives of National Imaging Facility and meet with selected candidates. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be notified by early October 2025, to allow the incumbent to attend the 25 November 2025 meeting as an observer and commence as Chair of the Board from 1 January 2026.
