Scope and Function:

  • CMCA is the primary provider of small animal imaging in Western Australia through their newly formed Bioimaging Facility (BIF) located at the QEII Medical Centre.
  • BIF features mass spectral imaging (capable of capturing both bioluminescence and fluorescence) and micro-CT.
  • CMCA is also the Western Australian node of the AMMRF and provides access to advanced optical and confocal microscopy for the study of ultrastructures. Facilities are located in a PC2 environment and animal care and surgical capabilities are available.
